b. Robert Moore

Robert Moore, a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, began his painting journey in 2018-19, using art as a means to combat drug addiction and alcoholism. His artistic expression focuses on figurative works among various contemporary pieces, all interwoven with Moore’s personal identity and his experiences as a Black man in America. Hailing from Iowa, a predominantly White-conservative state, Moore draws inspiration from his upbringing to amplify the narratives and portrayals of individuals within his community and beyond who share similar life stories and identities.

Central to Moore’s artistry is storytelling, where visual compositions are complemented by extensive research and layered symbolism within each artwork. By employing found and upcycled materials, each with its own story and connection to previous works, Moore deconstructs and reconstructs his art. This process creates a cohesive narrative deeply rooted in Black American experiences, the history of the African diaspora, and African heritage. His primary aim is to forge connections between Black experiences across continents.

Within a relatively short period, Moore has established a robust independent art practice and achieved significant success in both domestic and international art markets. His works are featured in private and public collections and have been highlighted in exhibitions such as "Out the Mud: A Black American Rite of Passage Debut Solo Exhibition" at Thinkspace in Los Angeles. He has also participated in notable events like the Sotheby’s United States Markets, Artball Benefit Auction in collaboration with Cierra Britton Gallery in New York and Artsy, Sotheby's Asian Markets in Hong Kong and China, and Art Basel Miami (SCOPE) with Clark Prifitis Art Advisory, including public murals at UNKNWN Miami and Soho House Chicago.

Moore’s artwork has entered renowned private collections globally, marking his emergence as an early-career artist who continually evolves in his craft, unbound by rules, styles, or brands. His presence in both public and private collections internationally underscores his continuous growth and dedication to mastering his artistry.
