McFlyy

Paul Shelton, better known in the art world by his artistic moniker McFlyy, is a visual artist, graphic, and fashion designer whose eclectic style and unique vision have propelled him to the forefront of contemporary art and fashion. Born in London, UK, into a military family, McFlyy spent his early years moving across various states and countries. These diverse world experiences profoundly influenced his artistic perspective, enriching his work with a global flair. The name McFlyy itself is a nod to his childhood obsession with time travel, inspired by the iconic "Back to the Future" series and its protagonist, Marty McFly.

McFlyy's work is instantly recognizable for its strong influence from the popular anime genre, with classics like Akira and Dragon Ball Z as major inspirations. His artistic influences span various domains: the dynamic and expressive comic art of Jorge Jimenez and Dan Mora, the groundbreaking manga of Akira Toriyama and Osamu Tezuka, and the visionary direction of Katsuhiro Otomo and Hayao Miyazaki. He also draws inspiration from respected pop artists such as Takashi Murakami and Kaws. Additionally, he admires the timeless and functional designs of Dieter Rams and Charles Eames, whose principles of simplicity and utility resonate in his own work.

After attending Florida State University with a focus on engineering, McFlyy relocated to Los Angeles, where his art gained substantial recognition. To cultivate a sense of mystique and ensure that his art took center stage, McFlyy developed a somewhat deliberate anonymity. His enigmatic presence has become a signature element of his public persona, encouraging viewers to delve deeper into his work. The allure of his creations lies in the intricate details and imaginative concepts that define his style.

Despite maintaining a low profile, McFlyy's dedication to his art and ability to stay true to his unique vision have led to collaborations with high-profile celebrities and industry giants. His impressive portfolio includes customized apparel for J Balvin, Lady Gaga, Kyle Kuzma, and Russell Westbrook; album covers for top artists such as Chris Brown, Megan Thee Stallion, and Beyoncé; and multiple collaborations with the NBA, NHL, and numerous household brand names.

Passionate about sharing his knowledge, he has begun conducting various workshops and masterclasses, teaching others about his craft and inspiring the next generation of artists.
