Doug Hickman Jr. is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice emerges from the intersections of heritage, the built environment, and cultural memory. Originally from Chicago and now based in Los Angeles, Hickman draws on a background in architecture and music to inform his creative approach.

Hickman began his professional career in New York as a fashion stylist before relocating to Los Angeles, where his practice expanded into set design in 2021 and, subsequently, into visual art in 2024. His work explores layered narratives of Black identity through spatial design, image-making, and material experimentation, grounded in a deep engagement with history and self-expression.
